Help give milk to families in need
Hunger is very real for one in six Americans. More than 12 million families are food insecure and missing out on the essential nutrients supplied by milk. Feeding America food banks rarely receive milk donations and can provide only one gallon of milk per person, per year, on average.
That’s what The Great American Milk Drive aims to address.
Launched this month by the dairy checkoff, in partnership with the National Dairy Council and Milk Processor Education Program, The Great American Milk Drive is the nation’s first program to deliver much-needed milk to hungry families.
With every donation, Feeding America will give nutrient-rich milk to a family in your community. In addition to supporting families who need milk the most, it also supports increased sales of and demand for dairy products.
How you can help:
- Make a donation — For every $5 donation, Feeding America will give a gallon of nutritious milk.
- Use social media on Twitter, Facebook or Tumblr (or all three!) to join the conversation. Include #MilkDrive in your conversations. Here are a few examples to get you started:

Let’s work together to bring more nutritious milk to families who need it most. After all, Healthy Food for all is a key driver to everything we do on the dairy.
